    For the second year, the turf of historic Dutch Clark Stadium hosted Cornhole at Dutch Clark Stadium, a fundraiser for the D60 Education Foundation. This year, the tournament featured a high school division, with tossers from Central, Dutch Clark Digital, East and South taking part.

    The Colorado Department of Education recently released preliminary District and School Performance Frameworks based on assessment results and growth data. This initial data reveals that 11 schools occupy the top-tier Performance Framework: Fountain, Goodnight, Corwin, Haaff, Franklin, Irving, Bradford, South Park, Sunset Park, Minnequa and Morton.

    In addition to the aesthetic upgrades to improve the look and appearance of Dutch Clark Stadium, a number of improvements have been made with an eye toward increased safety and ease of use of the facility. A new addition to the safety protocol will be the use of walk-through metal detectors at stadium entry points.

    To recognize schools in Colorado that have demonstrated strong growth in student achievement since 2019, Governor Jared Polis established the Governor’s Bright Spot Award, which comes with an accompanying $50,000 endowment. Of the more than 1,800 public schools in the state, only 21 were selected for this recognition, with three – Franklin School of Innovation, Heritage Elementary and Irving Elementary – hailing from the District.
