School Choice in D60

  • The School Choice Application Window
    for the 2025-26 school year will open at

    8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025.
    Once School Choice opens, you can submit an application
    any time before February 10, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
    to participate in the School Choice lottery.

    As with any other lottery, it makes no difference if your application
    is submitted on the first day or the last day of the lottery window.
     

    If you want to apply to have your four-year-old attend preschool at D60 in 2024-25,
    you must start by submitting a Colorado Universal Preschool application.
    Call our Early Childhood Education office at 719-253-6016 for assistance.

    D60 provides a variety of educational opportunities to meet the learning needs of our students. We offer traditional neighborhood schoolsInternational Baccalaureate (IB) and STEM Magnet schoolsalternative and online schools, and many more specialty schools. While some schools may have specific focus areas, all of our schools teach the Colorado Academic Standards and offer comprehensive programs for students.

    NOTE: If you believe there's a compelling reason for your child to move to a different school during this school year, contact the D60 Student Registration office at 719-253-6014 to apply for transfer during the school year.

    What is school choice?

    For the past 25 years, parents in Colorado have had the option of enrolling their child in the public school of their choosing, granted that there is room for their child to enroll at a school they prefer.
