D60 Foodworks: Nutrition Services
Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.
The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to student health, well-being, and the ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.
Beginning Tuesday, June 8, and continuing through July 29, D60 Foodworks will begin Summer food distribution on Tuesdays and Thursdays for children 18 and under. For medical dietary accommodations, contact Casey Hayes, RDN email@example.com
All meals will exceed the USDA nutritional requirements, with the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program funding the meal distribution.
Children do not have to be present to receive meals.
Those who drive to a distribution site are asked to remain in their vehicle, as the meals will be passed through the window, based on the number of recipient children. Meals cannot be consumed on-site.
The district encourages families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of COVID-19 by not congregating at the distribution site once the meals are received. Masks should be worn when in public, with the frequent washing of hands recommended.
When sneezing or coughing, do so into a tissue, and if you are feeling sick, remain at home.
