  • FEMA TO OFFER SCHOOL-BASED VACCINATION CLINICS

    Pueblo School District 60 is partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to host school-based COVID-19 vaccination clinics. All clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the exception of South, which is tentatively scheduled from 4-8 p.m.

    Teaching is often a thankless job, but no one enters this profession with a desire for accolades and the spotlight. Rather, we as educators do it for the most noblest of reasons: to gift the community, and the world itself, with the next generation of leaders, scientists, lawyers, doctors, skilled laborers, journalists, public servants and, of course, teachers.

  • Children, and a Brighter Future for Them, Remain Susan Sanchez's Inspiration

    A D60 product, Principal Sanchez first envisioned herself as a teacher while a third-grader at Belmont Elementary School. Her teacher, the late Levia Smith, “made me love everything about school. She was amazing and I thought to myself, ‘I can do this,’” Principal Sanchez said. After graduating from East High School, Principal Sanchez enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado.

  • Longtime District "Music Man" Continues to Impact Students in his Retirement

    After learning of the district’s participation in the Bringing Music to Life program – which encourages the donation of performance instruments to ensure that the love of music-making continues in schools – Mr. DeNiro and his wife Dr. Dorothy DeNiro, eagerly turned over 100 instruments, all in hard-shell cases, to Cindy Smith, the district’s Fine Arts Specialist.
