  • Established when the neighborhood of Belmont boomed in the 1950s, the Franklin School of Innovation, formerly known as Ben Franklin Elementary, has continually served our neighborhood’s families and students, both as an educational beacon and a gathering place for our neighbors and kids.

We are very lucky to report that we will have a brand new school for the opening of the 2023-2024 school year! Franklin has been known as "The Crown Jewel of Belmont" for over 60 years and we plan on carrying forward that tradition in our beautiful new building.

As times have changed over the years, Franklin continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community, students and families. As such, Franklin is part of the Innovation Zone and we are a "Project Lead the Way School" and an "AVID School" which means these are two programs that help prepare our Franklin Bobcats for 21st-century challenges. As an Innovation School, Franklin offers a one-of-a-kind personalized learning experience that is rich with technology and fits the needs of each individual student. As an AVID school, Franklin instills college readiness from a young age, which prepares our students for middle school and beyond. As a Project Lead the Way school, Franklin staff provides transformative learning experiences for our students and teachers. We create an engaging, hands-on classroom environment and empower students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills they need to thrive. PLTW’s research-supported approach empowers students to discover and explore interests, imagine and design solutions to real-world challenges, and become independent, confident problem solvers.

In the wild, a bobcat is tenacious, adaptable, and daring, yet always focused on the needs of their pack. Franklin Bobcats are instilled with those same traits, fostered by a cooperative effort between home, school, and community to prepare our students for success.
