Like its mascot The Phoenix, the future at PAA is bright and ascendant. “I’m excited to get back to the roots of this building,” Mr. Farias said. “Our town halls, recognition assemblies: those elements that really help to usher students into the high school years with a really strong middle school experience.”
Ms. Carleo and Ms. Benner are the revered counseling team at Pueblo Academy of Arts. As counselors at the middle school level, they have become an indispensable part of the education process, addressing a multitude of needs that come with the exciting, but challenging, passage from childhood into adolescence.
After graduating from East High School in 2019, Ukiah went on to Colorado State University Pueblo, where he is a freshman studying cybersecurity.
“Sometimes, you just have to put your head down and get through something to be done with it,” Principal Cardinal explained. “And that’s our message: we have to get through this. And once we are on the other side, we’re going to be so much better for it, because we will have learned so much.”
